Digital Publishing is making its mark in the world. Just five years ago, electronic rights were written into author contracts. And just a few months ago, Steven King debuted his e-novelette, Riding the Bullet, by distributing over 400,000 downloads. Now that is change! Online Publishing, however, is not all about e-books, it is also about using technology to provide better solutions to the old publishing model. Print-on-Demand, digital archiving, content conversion, online management tools for rights management, and online distribution channels are also a part of the game. The digital world in publishing is breaking new ground, while challenging old rules and creating a new ones.

The Center for Publishing is in the center of this arena. In January 2000, the Master of Science in Publishing launched a new concentration in e-publishing, and we believe that we are training the next generation of publishers: Digital Publishers. We hope to provide interesting information about the everchanging electronic publishing world here and throughout our web site.
