Descriptions and analyses of the specific factors that account for the profitability and, hence, survival of different sectors of the book industry: education, scholarly, reference, and trade. Starting with explanations and comparisons of the fundamental business equations in publishing, students learn how to estimate the potential profitability of hypothetical publishing ventures.
