The role of advertising sales and marketing is explored with an emphasis on magazine positioning, sales research, and developing necessary marketing tools. The fundamentals of ad pricing, promotion, events, and merchandising are covered and how each of these areas influence the sale of advertising. We cover how to communicate audience demographics, reader activities, and editorial values to advertising agencies and client decision-makers. Sessions focus on developing creative advertising packages to increase sales in a changing market as well as the new role of selling interactive advertising online.
