The course begins with identifying the mission statement, editorial goals, strategies, and content of a magazine. Explores all aspects of the broad range of editorial responsibilities including content planning, writing, editing, design, budgeting, and maintaining an editorial calendar. The interrelationships of editorial management and functions with advertising, circulation, and financial management are brought together as a dynamic process. Covers both consumer and trade magazine editorial content management. Guest speakers. 2.5 CEU. Offered in fall only.
