An understanding of the various forms of management and supervision employed in business organizations, with particular attention to the publishing industry. Examines these forms to provide a context in which the capacities of employees can be best utilized in the publication of books, periodicals, and new enterprises. The course includes a review of the recent consolidations as well as multiple new start-up ventures with related management issues in the publishing industry.
