This course is designed to give participants a general overview of the editorial, marketing, and financial operations of a small press. The goal is to give participants the tools to fulfill their publishing goals in the manner of entrepreneurs who can create and manage a small press. In contrast to corporate publishers, small presses offer the opportunity to understand the publishing process in its entirety; such an overview may be of assistance to the corporate employee who is trying to redefine his or her career goals. The course includes visits and presentations by small press publishers. 1.5 CEU.
