Line editing didn t end with Maxwell Perkins-it s often just in different hands, still working its necessary magic on the raw manuscript. In this advanced course, you learn how to un cover and distill an author s voice and vision. Editors, freelance editors, packagers, copy editors, and assistant editors tackle actual manuscripts, both fiction and nonfiction, in class sessions and assignments. Topics include: devel oping and sustaining an author relationship; the query"; the manuscript s organization; when and how to rewrite; and illustrations and other special considerations. Current book editing experience and program adviser approval required. 2.5 CEU.
