Admission

Admission is open to qualified individuals who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution. Factors considered in evaluating applications include: academic achievement in previous degree coursework; scores on the GRE exam; TOEFL scores (for international students); the nature and extent of previous work experience; a personal essay; and letters of recommendation.

Tuition

The tuition for the Fall 2000 semester is $783, which includes a nonrefundable $162 registration and services fee for the first credit only. The tuition for each additional credit is $665, which includes a nonrefundable $44 per credit registration fee. (The Board of Trustees of New York University reserves the right to alter the schedule of tuition and fees without notice).

Application Procedure

The master of science degree program uses the self-managed application for all applicants, which requires that the applicant assume the responsibility for gathering and completing the information required on the application forms, for obtaining the supporting documents, and for submitting all materials in a single envelope to the Office of Admissions and Academic Services.

Complete all application forms, following the directions provided.

2. Take a standard graduate-level admission test administered world-wide by the Educational Testing Service, Box 966, Princeton, NJ 08541. (Most students take the GMAT). Request that your scores be sent to the Office of Admissions and Academic Services. The ETS designation for our program is number 2557. You may obtain additional information about the GMAT exam by phoning ETS at (609) 771-7330. GMAT and GRE test preparation courses are available at NYU. Call (212) 998-7062 for information.

3. Use the forms and special envelopes that are provided in the application materials to request that official transcripts and the required letters of recommendation be sent to you.

4. Send all completed application forms, a resume, and the sealed envelopes containing transcripts and recommendations to the Office of Admissions and Academic Services before the Priority application dates to:

Applications are continuously reviewed throughout the year. Submitting your application by the Priority Date, however, will ensure that you will be considered for the program in the semester you have chosen.
