BIO: Lucienne de
Mestre is a Partner in the New York office of Ray & Berndtson, the sixth largest international
executive search firm in the world. Lucienne specializes in the Internet area, specifically the
dot.com world. She focuses on strategic consulting and putting in executive management
teams for Internet start-ups and Internet divisions. This work has included the publishing,
entertainment and consumer goods industries. Lucienne was a pioneer in using the Internet
for content, community and e-commerce. In 1995 she established a Web site for the company
she founded, Inside Out. This was an upscale home delivery service for everything you need
to keep naturally healthy, targeted to busy New Yorkers. Combined with her weekly NY radio
show, Lucienne used the Web site to bring the latest in health information to her 1500 weekly
customers. Weekly specials were posted, and customers could order on-line, get recipe tips
and email their health questions. Lucienne also built her own e-commerce site in 1996, selling
high end, European antiques. These experiences give her a unique insight into the evolution
of the Internet in the US. Lucienne combines this with seventeen years in senior management
and strategic marketing roles with major international advertising agencies and management
consultancies. She has been President of four companies and has extensive global
experience, having worked in the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, The Peoples' Republic
of China, Chile and the U.S.A. Lucienne received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from
Sydney University, Australia.
